Recurring SMS is optional

A player may leave the recurring-SMS checkbox unchecked and still create or keep an account, request a verification code, verify a phone number, use StreakWars, join or participate in games, and make a purchase.

Where players sign up

Account signup begins at https://streakwars.com/ by selecting Sign up. Account creation uses email and does not ask for or require recurring-SMS consent. After signing in, the player opens Profile → Text notifications → Set up text notifications. The optional recurring-SMS control is shown there, directly beneath the mobile-number field. The exact reviewer-accessible control is reproduced below and shown in the linked screenshot.

Complete opt-in workflow

The player creates or keeps an email account without providing recurring-SMS consent.
After signing in, the player opens Profile → Text notifications, selects Set up text notifications, and enters a mobile number.
The separate Optional recurring SMS checkbox is displayed unchecked.
The player either checks it voluntarily or leaves it unchecked, then requests a verification code.
After the six-digit code is completed, StreakWars records phone verification and the recurring-SMS consent choice separately.
Recurring transactional game and account texts are enabled only when recorded consent is true.
User-requested one-time phone verification codes are separate from the recurring program and never create recurring-SMS consent.
The player can revoke consent in notification settings or by replying STOP. Re-enabling requires the affirmative checkbox in Profile → Text notifications.
